Garden Centre Manager (holding)
Located 3 miles south west of Stockport, Marple Garden Centre has grown from a humble vegetable patch selling its produce in nearby Romiley into the popular centre of today. During the 1960s the site was used for growing and selling ornamental plants and it was not until the 1970s, when John Webb built the original shop, that it became a garden centre.
Well known locally for its excellent array of top quality plants and gardening products, the centre is staffed by a team of friendly and helpful horticultural experts, whose warm welcome and sound advice are valued by skilled and amateur gardeners alike.
Links with the local community are extremely strong, with year round events ranging from a farmers' market on the last Sunday of the month to classic car shows on site. The centre is also involved with a longstanding local charity, the 'Romiley and Marple Lions Club', that runs iconic events such as the heavily subscribed annual 'Santa Dash'! For the young at heart, the ever-popular Dragon miniature steam railway runs around the grounds, whilst the staff are truly expert at organising fabulous seasonal celebrations that even include ghoulish Halloween feasts in the restaurant!
