Set in the beautiful Cheshire countryside, Tarporley Garden Centre lies on the A49 a few miles from the towns of Winsford and Tarporley. It began life in the 1960s as a market garden growing tomatoes and chrysanthemums for the markets in Manchester. Taken over by a houseplant grower, it expanded dramatically, at one stage having the largest glasshouse span in Europe as well as being a ground-breaking prototype for automated climate controlled spans on that scale!
In 1986 it was bought by Jardiniere who retailed hardy nursery stock from the car park until the glass spans were removed, laying the foundations of the popular and well regarded centre of today. Staffed by a team of loyal, friendly and knowledgeable staff, whose expertise is appreciated by expert and amateur gardeners alike, the centre draws customers from far afield as well as locally and has a well deserved reputation for the consistently high quality of its growing stock.
Whilst the excellent array of plants and gardening products lies at the heart of the business, this is enhanced by a great range of garden furniture, giftware and cards, as well as a popular restaurant that serves delicious food and snacks all day long.
