Birchencliffe, a Wyevale Garden Centre transforms the garden at Forget Me Not Children's Hospice

Volunteers from Birchencliffe, a Wyevale Garden Centre, completed a garden makeover at the nearby Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice. The hospice was chosen by shoppers at the garden centre as the local cause they would love to see receive a garden makeover.

Together with staff and volunteers from the hospice and a local handyman, the garden centre team transformed the garden from something overgrown and under-loved, into a bright and colourful haven for the families to enjoy and make memories in. By helping the hospice to make better use of this space, the centre hope to have created a garden that can be used for fun and reflection in years to come.

Creating this garden design was the collective work of local groups including Elizabeth Joice, of Elizabeth J Design, Ben Phillips and Mark Shaw of Banney Royd Gardening Services and the team from Birchencliffe. It resulted in a design that meets the complex needs of the children and families of the hospice. The new features incorporate stimulating flashes of colour and sound, as well as elements that will attract an abundance of wildlife.
