Clematis 'Mrs George Jackman'
Clematis - 2.5 litres
Clematis 'Mrs.George Jackmann' is a beautiful old variety with large cream-white flowers with a prominent central boss of white filaments tipped with pale brown anthers, semi-double and single together in May-June and again with single flowers only in September. Suitable for training up a wall, arch or trellis with other climbers or up an obelisk in a border or large container. Raised in 1873 and still growing strong!
Height and spread 2-2.5m by 1m (6.5-8ft x 40in). Plant in deep, well-drained, humus-rich soil, in sun or partial shade, with its roots in shade. Mulch around the roots in spring with well-rotted manure or compost and feed with a slow release fertilizer. Keep plants in containers well watered and feed fortnightly with a balanced liquid fertiliser during the growing season.
Pruning group 2: prune lightly before growth begins in February- March.
