Clematis cirrhosa 'Wisley Cream' is a free-flowering variety of this evergreen Mediterranean species with abundant bell-shaped cream flowers tinged green through winter into early spring, against a background of glossy, rich green foliage. Named after The RHS garden at Wisley, where it was raised.
Height and spread 2-3m by 1.5m. Plant in moist but well-drained, humus-rich soil, by a sheltered south or west-facing wall or fence. Mulch around the roots in spring with well-rotted manure or compost. Pruning, only necessary to restrict size, is best carried out after flowering.
