Fuchsia 'Chilli Red'
Hardy Fuchsia - 3 litres
Fuchsia 'Chilli Red' is a very distinct variety which could almost be mistaken for a chilli bush covered with bright red chillis, especially the tight, pointed buds, which open to attractive star-shaped flowers all through summer to the first hard frosts. Definitely one to amuse and perplex your friends! A neat, compact variety which fits equally well into shrub or herbaceous borders or summer bedding schemes. Also excellent in a container. Grows around 40cm high by 50cm (16in x 20in).
Hardy in average British winters, thriving in moist but well-drained, humus-rich soil, in sun or light shade, sheltered from cold, drying winds. Mulch in autumn. Cut hard back almost to ground level as new growth appears in spring. If growing in containers, overwinter in a frost-free place and re-pot in fresh compost each spring.
