Hydrangea macrophylla 'Pia'
Dwarf Mop head Hydrangea - 3 litres
Hydrangea macrophylla 'Pia', a slow-growing dwarf variety, is the perfect hydrangea for a small space or container, with prolific large dome shaped heads of deep rose florets with white centres, opening in August into late autumn, against dark green foliage. Good for cutting and drying. Lovely in a shrub or mixed border or in a large container.
Height and spread 60-90cm (2-3ft). Thrives in moist but well-drained, humus-rich soil, in sun or dappled shade, sheltered from cold, drying winds. Leave the flower heads on the plant over winter to protect the buds below. Prune in spring by cutting back to the first pair of strong buds below the old leaves.
