Hardy Fuchsia - 2 litres
Fuchsia 'Riccartonii', raised in Scotland nearly 200 years ago, is one of the hardiest and most vigorous of all the Hardy Fuchsias. It makes a large, graceful, upright shrub, with red young stems, small, red-veined dark green leaves and prolific slender scarlet and dark purple flowers from midsummer into November. In sheltered sites it will grow 2-3m (6-10ft) high by up to 2m across, or can be kept to 1.2-1.5m (4-5ft) by cutting hard back in spring. Ideal for mixed or shrub borders, it is also often used as a hedge in mild coastal areas.
Thrives in moist but well-drained soil in sun or light shade.
