Hedera colchica 'Dentata' is a magnificent, vigorous ivy with very handsome large deep green, heart-shaped leaves. Clusters of greenish-yellow flowers on adult growth in autumn are loved by bees and the black berries which follow are a valuable food source for birds in winter. Suitable for clothing large wall or excellent as groundcover, especially useful in shade.
Capable of growing 2m (6ft) in a season once established, up to 10m high by 4m (30ft x 12ft) in time, more or less prostrate if unsupported. Thrives in any moist but well-drained soil, in sun or light shade, sheltered from cold winds.
This plant has an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
Bee and butterfly friendly.
