Lonicera japonica 'Halliana' is a vigorous evergreen or semi-evergreen climbing honeysuckle with very fragrant cream flowers, fading to yellow, throughout summer, followed by shiny black berries. Ideal for covering long lengths of fencing and outbuildings. (One plant will cover 5 x 2m fencing panels.) Height up to 10m.
Thrives in moist but well-drained, humus-rich soil, in sun or partial shade, with the roots shaded. Tie in to horizontal wires at 45cm intervals. Keep well watered in dry weather. Mulch with garden compost or well-rotted manure in spring. Pruning only necessary to restrict size, in late winter.
This plant has an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
