Ligustrum ovalifolium 'Aureum' is a popular shrub with bright gold-margined leaves, often seen as a hedge but also making a fine specimen foliage shrub, valued by flower arrangers. Tough and easy to grow, evergreen in all but the severest winters, producing a flush of fresh leaves in spring. Sweetly scented white flowers open in July on untrimmed shrubs. Makes an attractive, colourful 1.2-2m high hedge. Height and spread as a shrub up to 3m.

Thrives in any ordinary garden soil, in sun or partial shade. For a hedge plant 40-45cm apart. Trim in May and September.
