Pieris 'Forest Flame'
Flame of the forest - 2 litres
Pieris 'Forest Flame' is one of the most popular of all hardy evergreens. Bright red new leaves are sensational in spring, fading through pink to deep green and appearing in further flushes in summer and autumn. Pendulous clusters of warm coppery buds are ornamental through the winter and open to showy white flowers in spring. Height and spread around 1.5m by 1-1.2m (5ft x 3-4ft) in 10 years. Can be pruned to restrict size after flowering.
Thrives with rhododendrons, azaleas and Japanese maples, in moist but well drained, lime-free soil, with light overhead shade, sheltered from cold, drying winds. Also excellent in a container.
