Vinca minor f. alba 'Gertrude Jekyll'
Small White Periwinkle - 2 litres
Vinca minor 'Gertrude Jekyll', White-flowered periwinkle, is a vigorous prostrate evergreen with small, neat, glossy dark green leaves and masses of pure white flowers in spring and early summer and intermittently throughout the year. Good groundcover, rooting as it goes, forming a weed-smothering carpet, especially useful under trees and large shrubs. Grows around 10cm high with an indefinite spread.
Thrives in any soil other than damp or very dry, in sun or shade, tolerating deep shade, though flowering less freely. Shear over in early spring to promote fresh growth or cut hard back to restrict spread.
This plant has an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
