Lavandula angustifolia 'Munstead' is a classic compact variety of English lavender with scented mid-blue flowers all summer, over a neat mound of slender, aromatic, grey-green, evergreen leaves. Highly attractive to bees and butterflies and excellent for cutting and drying. Ideal at the front of shrub or mixed borders, in Mediterranean-style borders, in herb gardens, edging paths or growing as a low hedge. Height and spread 40cm (60cm including flowers) by 90cm.
Plant in well-drained soil in a sunny position sheltered from cold winds. Hates cold wet soil. For a hedge, plant 25-30cm apart.Trim lightly after flowering in late summer.

Bee and butterfly friendly.
