Photinia x fraseri 'Red Robin'
Christmas Berry - 2 litres
Photinia x fraseri 'Red Robin' is one of the most popular of all evergreens, thanks especially to its brilliant red new growth throughout the growing season. Clusters of small white flowers open in spring, sometimes followed by red berries. Ideal for the back of a border or as a screening plant, or as a hedge in mild areas. Can also be grown in a large container. Un-pruned grows around 3-4m high and wide, though can be kept more compact by trimming.
Thrives in any moist but well-drained, fertile soil, in sun or partial shade, sheltered from cold winds. Keep plants in containers well watered and fed and keep in a warm, sheltered place in winter. Trim after the first flush of new growth in spring, up to twice more in the summer if wished, no later than August.
This plant has an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
