Cistus x obtusifolius 'Thrive'
Sun rose, Rock rose - 3 litres
Cistus x obtusifolius 'Thrive' (Rock or Sun rose) is a delightful small evergreen which covers itself over many weeks in summer with glistening white papery flowers, against a background of dark green leaves. It associates well with other Mediterranean plants such as lavenders, cotton lavenders and Phlomis as well as other Cistus. Forms a neat mound around 50cm (20in) high and wide. Named for the national charity which gives disabled and disadvantaged people the opportunity to improve their health, skills and quality of life through gardening.
Thrives in poor to moderately fertile, sharply drained soil, in full sun, sheltered from cold winds. Rich soils should be avoided. Tolerant of drought and maritime conditions. Can be trimmed lightly after flowering.
