Cydonia oblonga 'Vranja' is a beautiful, characterful small tree with large pale pink flowers in May followed by large, pear-shaped, golden-yellow fruits, ripening in October. The attractive leaves often turn yellow and russet before falling in autumn. These very fragrant fruits are excellent for making quince jelly or cheese, for adding to apple dishes, baking, or roasting with pork or lamb. Makes a rounded tree, up to 5m.high by 5m. Plant in moist but well-drained soil in a sunny, sheltered site.
