Agapanthus Double Diamond = 'Rfdd'
African lily, Nile lily - 2.5 litres
Agapanthus Double Diamond='Rfdd' is a delightful and very unusual dwarf variety of the African lily with heads of double pure white flowers with long, slender petals opening in summer, set off by dark green, evergreen foliage. Lovely at the front of a sunny border and particularly good in pots. Grows only 30cm by 3ocm.
Plant in spring or summer in moist but well-drained soil, in a sunny site, sheltered from cold winds. Feed monthly with a balanced liquid fertiliser until flowering. Hardier than you might expect, but still cover with a protective dry mulch in winter. To grow in containers, use John Innes No 3 potting compost, water freely during the growing season, keep dry in a frost-free place over winter.
Bee and butterfly friendly.
