Aster novi-belgii 'Lady in Blue'
Michaelmas daisy - 2 litres
Aster novi-belgii 'Lady in Blue' is one of the best dwarf varieties, with sprays of lavender-blue flowers in September and October, on a neat, compact plant with fine foliage, brightening the front of borders and attracting bees and butterflies into the garden. Good as a cut flower. Most effective in groups of 3 or more, combining well with other Asters, Border Phlox, Hesperanthas, Japanese Anemones and Monardas. Also good in containers.
Height and spread 30cm by 35cm (12in x 14in). Plant in moist but well-drained, humus-rich soil, in sun or light shade.
To keep Michaelmas daisies vigorous, healthy and free-flowering, divide and replant in spring every other year. Mulch in spring to conserve moisture.
Bee and butterfly friendly.
