Epimedium warleyense Orangekönigin'
Barrenwort - 2 litres
Epimedium x warleyense Orange Queen ('Orangekönigin') is a vigorous evergreen perennial with dainty flowers like tiny columbines with coppery-orange outer petals and yellow inner petals, from mid-spring to June. The beautiful heart-shaped leaves are red-tinted in spring and autumn and make good groundcover, associating well with hostas, pulmonarias and other shade-loving perennials. Forms a slowly spreading mound 45cm by 60cm (18in x 2ft).
Thrives in moist but well-drained, humus-rich soil in light or full shade, sheltered from cold, drying winds. Reasonably drought tolerant once established. A mulch of leaf mould or compost in spring is beneficial.
