Sedum telephium 'Purple Emperor' - 2 litres added to wheelbarrow

Sedum telephium 'Purple Emperor' is an excellent, vigorous, upright variety with very dark purple foliage enlivened by red stems, topped from August to October with large heads of starry pink flowers which are loved by bees and butterflies. Fading to maroon-brown, they continue to provide interest through late autumn and winter. A superb addition to the front of any herbaceous or mixed border.

Height and spread 45- 50cm (18-20in). Thrives in any well-drained, not too rich soil, in sun. Drought tolerant once established.

Cut back to new knobs of growth in spring. Divide every three or four years to maintain vigour and compactness.
