Salix caprea 'Kilmarnock' is a popular small weeping tree with shiny mahogany stems and showy silver catkins in February-March, before the leaves. An ideal tree for small front gardens.
Grows very little above the height at which purchased and up to around 1.2-1.5m (4-5ft) across. Thrives in any damp or ordinary soil which doesn't get too dry in summer, in sun or light shade. Prune in spring to maintain a neat and tidy habit.
