Rosa 'Albertine' is a classic, much loved rambler, covering itself for several weeks in early and midsummer with strongly fragrant salmon-pink double and semi-double blooms opening from darker, coppery-pink buds. The foliage is glossy dark green tipped red, with dark red new growth. It is susceptible to mildew and black spot, which does not affect its vigour! Suitable for walls, fences, arches and pergolas. Height and spread 4m by 3m.

Plant in rich, well-drained soil, in a sunny site sheltered from strong winds. Spray with an appropriate fungicide against mildew and black spot fortnightly from early spring. Mulch with well-rotted manure in autumn. Feed with a rose fertiliser in spring and again in midsummer. When pruning, cut out flowered stems after flowering and tie in new stems.
