Cyclamen hederifolium Cyclamen Hederfolium
Hardy Cyclamen - 9 cm
Cyclamen hederifolium is the true hardy autumn flowering Cyclamen, with perfect miniature pink or white flowers opening from late summer into November. Beautiful silver or grey marbled deep green leaves unfold soon after the flowers appear and remain through the winter, dying down by summer until the following autumn. Ideal among dwarf ferns in shady rock gardens or in the dappled shade of deciduous shrubs and trees, where it will seed around and spread, forming extensive drifts over the years. One of the few plants which will thrive in the shade of mature beech trees. Forms a low mound, 10-13cm by 15cm (4-5in x 6in).
Plant in well-drained, humus-rich soil, in light shade. Mulch with leaf mould as leaves wither in late spring or early summer.
