Chitting encourages strong shoots which speeds up the growth once in the ground. Place your seed spuds in an egg or seed tray in a cool, dry, frost free location out of direct sunlight. The new shoots will appear from one end, this is the so called rose or stubs end, orientate so the rose end is pointing upwards. When Chunky chits reach approx. 25mm (1 inch) plant out in the ground or large container.
