Solanum tuberosum 'Nicola'
Salad Potato 'Nicola' - 2 kg
Solanum tuberosum Nicola is a relatively new Dutch variety producing a bumper crop of oval spuds with smooth skins and a firm, slightly waxy texture and a mouth-watering buttery flavour. They are a very versatile potato, perfect for boiling, mashing, baking and adding to salads.
Each 2kg sack contains roughly 20 - 28 tubers.
First earlies and second earlies perform better, producing healthy, less diseased crops if chitted before planting. Chitting encourages strong shoots which speeds up the growth once in the ground. Place your seed spuds in an egg or seed tray in a cool, dry, frost free location out of direct sunlight. The new shoots will appear from one end, this is the so called rose or stubs end, orientate so the rose end is pointing upwards. When chunky, chits reach approx. Plant 25mm (1 inch) apart out in the ground or in a large container.
Plant outside from Mid March onwards and harvest after 13 weeks.
