Ribes uva-crispa 'Hinnonmaki Green'
Gooseberry 'Hinnonmaki Green' - 3 litres
Ribes uva-crispa 'Hinnonmaki Green' is an excellent, very hardy mid-season variety, specifically bred in Finland for hardiness and disease-resistance, bearing consistently prolific crops of large, well flavoured, olive-green fruit. Self-fertile. Ready to pick from late May for cooking and preserving, but larger, with a sweet, aromatic taste, delicious for eating fresh, by mid-July. Eventual height and spread 90cm.
Plant 1.5m apart in reasonably well-drained, fertile soil, rich in organic matter, in an open, sunny, lightly shaded spot, sheltered from wind and avoiding frost pockets. Prune annually in winter. Apply a slow release general fertiliser in spring.
This plant is supplied in a 3L pot but is not necessarily pot grown.
