Ribes rubrum 'Jonkheer van Tets'
Redcurrant 'Jonkheer van Tets' - 3 litres
Ribes rubrum 'Jonkheer van Tets' (Redcurrant) is one of the earliest redcurrants to ripen, with heavy crops of bright jewel-coloured juicy fruit with a fine flavour, ready for picking in early July. Excellent for summer puddings, pies and jelly and wine-making. Birds enjoy them, but usually leave plenty for human consumption! All redcurrants are self-fertile. Height and spread up to 1.75m high by 1.5m.
Plant in well-drained fertile soil rich in organic matter in a sunny or partially-shaded position, sheltered from strong winds and avoiding frost pockets to prevent damage to the blossom. Prune annually in winter.
This plant has an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
