Rubus idaeus 'Malling Jewel'
Raspberry 'Malling Jewel' - 3 litres
Rubus idaeus (Raspberry) 'Malling Jewel' is a popular, tried and tested, compact, disease-resistant variety, producing delicious dark red fruit ripening through July. Excellent eaten fresh or for freezing and jam making. All raspberries are self-fertile.
Height 1.5-1.65m. Plant canes 35cm apart in well-drained, preferably slightly acid soil. Needs support: tie to post-and-wire supports with the top wire at 1.65m. Ripens best in full sun, but light shade is acceptable. Shelter from strong winds is essential. Prune annually immediately after picking, cutting all fruited canes down to ground level. Select the best new canes and tie in 10cm apart. In February cut all canes to 15cm above the top wire.
5 bare roots canes per pot.
