Butterhead Lettuce 'Barilla' - 6 plants per
6 plants per strip
Lactuca sativa Lettuce 'Barilla' is a well-known, reliable 'butterhead' variety producing attractive large but compact, mid to deep green heads of succulent leaves with a good flavour. It has good natural disease resistance which makes it highly suitable for amateur and organic gardeners. Plant 30cm apart in well-drained, humus-rich soil, in sun or partial shade.
Protect from slugs. Water well in dry weather. Always water in the morning up to midday. Watering late in the day increases the risk of rotting.
Plant outdoors from March to September and harvest from January to December.
