Anemone 'Bressingham Glow'
To make the most of the autumn colour in your garden, anemones are of great importance. Their flowers are freely visible in shades of pink through to white in both single and semi-double flowers.
Whilst spring flowering anemones are much smaller at around 15cm (6"), these autumn flowering varieties reach about 120cm (4 ft), although there are a few varieties that only grow to half of this size.
Anemones will die back to ground level in late autumn to re-shoot again in the spring. They are reliable and very easy to grow, not normally suffering from any pest problems. For best results, plant in full sun or partial shade in a moist position.
Plant anemones with autumn foliage plants such as acers, fothergilla, euonymus alatus and berberis or in front of pyracantha, the berries provide a good backdrop.
