|Erysimum ‘Bowles Mauve’|
Erysimum, also known as the perennial wallflower, provides a massive flush of colour from early in the year for a long period. By regularly deadheading it can be kept flowering into the summer.
Erysimums are available in a range of eye-catching colours from the strong pink-purple of ‘Bowles Mauve’ to the bright yellow of ‘Walbertons fragrant sunshine’ with the addition of a range of pastel colours to suit any garden.
They are well suited to brightening up your borders growing to around 50cm tall and a similar spread. They will grow in almost any soil with the exception of very damp. They look best in a sunny position to make the most of the intense colours but they can also be grown in partial shade.
They are very easy to grow and are well suited to the beginner, producing masses of flowers for little effort and are not affected by many pests or diseases.
They are well suited to planting with a range of spring bulbs to provide a mass of colour in spring, but can also be planted with other spring shrubs and perennials.
