x-Carex oshimensis ‘Evergold’
Carex oshimensis 'Evergold' is a beautiful native evergreen Sedge from Japan that has become a star performer in British gardens, thriving whatever the weather in full sun and partial shade.
It is a dense clump forming sedge grown for its fabulous golden green evergreen foliage- each arching grass like leaf is striped green and creamy gold. Simply gorgeous!
This majestic sedge with its showy variegated foliage is perfect for lightly shaded areas - it brings colour and vitality to wherever it is planted.
It tolerates dry shade making it a good choice to grow under tall well established trees planted with other woodland plants such as ferns, Epimediums, and Hostas or in bold sweeping drifts as a ground cover under deciduous shrubs.
'Evergold' is one of my favourite sedges - so reliably good looking all year round and so versatile it even looks good planted in containers with low growing spring flowering bulbs.
