x-Rosa Falstaff 'Ausverse' David Austin Rose
Rosa 'Falstaff' is a very versatile dark red rose that can be grown either as a short climber or as a shrub simply by adjusting how it is pruned over the winter.
It produces a beautifully powerful old rose fragrance from dark crimson flowers that turn to rich purple with age.
As with all of the full double flowered roses, it requires regular feeding to ensure the best quality blooms.
By pruning back to around about 45cm (18") it will grow into a beautiful shrub rose approximately 1.2m (4ft) tall, whilst by carrying out a light pruning it will grow to around 2m (7ft) tall and more suited to growing over arbours and rose arches.
